Will a radeon 4850 card work this a gigabyte GA-880GMA-UD2H motherboard

I cant figure out how to enable my video card, in this case a radeon 4850 with the gigabyte motherboard GA-880GMA-UD2H. i checked in bios so onboard gpu isnt selected, disabled the on board gpu in device manager. rebooted over and over but still cant get anything from the card. its installed correctly and you can see the fan spinning. any ideas? Is that card even compatable with the motherboard? Thanks for your help.

it should be compatable, and load in basic vga mode until you can install the amd drivers

Yes it will. In fact if you can see your BIOS then your video card is outputting enough to at least get windows going. Or do you only see the BIOS with onboard video?
