why core i7 2600K is very slower than intel Q6600 in MAYA modeling view port ? it is very fast only in rendering not in work area
if you open a sence with 10 million polygon , OMG it's very heavy for this CPU , if you are a Maya user test this , befor buying this CPU

The only area where you might see some improvement over the 2nd generation Intel® Core™ i7-2600K with the 1st generation Intel Core i7-990X Extreme Edition is very heavily multi-threaded application like Adobe CS4. Otherwise the 2nd generation Intel Core processors are the the best by a good bit.

thank you so much
I apologize for my poor english
I made a movie , and I compare and old AMD 6000+ vs core i7 2600 K
you can see in this video AMD 6000+ can work better on this heavy project
on Maya than core i7 2600K !!!

2600K can rotate only " 8 million polygon" and it is very unsatisfactory
I done same tests , on Intel Q 6600 , and AMD X6 T1100 and Core i7 960
all of them can work on more heaver project around "20 million polygon"

in rendering 2600K is very fast , but in Maya 2008 or Maya 2012 only 4
core works on my work area (when I work on my project )
what you think , is this software issue or 2600 k ?

please check my video

Try this go into the Bios and turn off the hyper-threading and then run that same test. Some programs may not do well for the hyper-threading but honestly I know nothing of Maya so I can't tell you what might be the issue.
