G Skill RipJaws & CPU coolers

Hey I'm wondering if I would have space issues with the following parts:

CM Hyper 212 Plus
ASRock Z68 EXTREME3 GEN3 ATX LGA1155 DDR3 2PCI-E16 2PCI-E SATA3 USB3.0 SLI CrossFireX Motherboard
G.SKILL Ripjaws X F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9-24 Memory

I'm actually looking for a different heatsink so if anyone knows of one (in the same price range) that will fit here let me know!

Thanks

More about skill ripjaws coolers
  1. It fits fine. Stay with this cooler, it is a good one, better than some $45 ones.
  2. Are you sure? I just don't want to get all the hardware then realize I have to send something back. As for the cooler I don't like some reviews I read where they said there is gaps between the pipes
  3. Read this http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/298485-30-asus-p8p67

I know it fits, because it is not that tall. 1/4 of inch more and it will not fit.
  4. I had that cooler with ram like the set below.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231426

It fits with both fans on the cooler, but the fan closest to the ram was sitting on top of the nearest ram chip because of the large heatsink. So yes it will fit and work fine, and that is a very good cooler in my opinion. I had it cooling my 2500k @ 4.5 ghz no problem.
  5. Yes, and if u will install it like this user, than u would be doing it wrong : ))
  6. What's the problem there?
  7. The fan is low, so the RAM don't fit.
  8. Ah OK I see it now. I guess it's not possible to turn the heat sink so that the fan is blowing upwards?
  9. There is no need for that, it is exact fit, it is designed that way.

I did read it on their website, that is why the tall RAM is not as tall as the Corsair and others are.
  10. But why bother with that RAM, when u can get this one.

Yes it is compatible, it just mean that the RAM was not certified(Corsair didn't pay for the cert. process). It was also released after the mobo was. And nobody has all the RAM certified, as they make too many to list them all :))
I recommend CORSAIR Vengeance 99% of the time, quality RAM and low profile with XMP profile. And if u will get an aftermarket CPU cooler, low profile is the worry free remedy with perfect fit with any large cooler.

Vengeance Low Profile heat spreaders have a reduced height of 1.03" (26.25mm). They're designed for high-performance systems with extra-large CPU coolers, small form factor system builds, or any other space-constrained application where standard Vengeance memory might not fit.
  11. But it is possible to turn the heatsink like that?
  12. It might be, assuming that u understand the flow inside the case and make some adjustments, if needed.
  13. I'm sticking with the G Skill RAM after reading this article.

    http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/newegg-pc-benchmark-review,3165.html

Same heat sink & RAM, they didn't even mention any problems with space between them.
  14. Cooler

Noctua NH-D14 (normal one would be well as the one in the pic is a SE2011 version)

    Memory

G.SKILL Ripjaws Z 16GB (4X4GB) 1600Mhz CL9 for me is the best one I've used even compared to my old Ripjaws and Ripjaws X and Ares, so far at least it work like wonders even on LGA1155 socket.

  15. I myself have that same Ram with a 212 Evo (pretty much the same thing really) and it fits fine. If I want to buy another kit, I may need to run the fan as a pull to give enough headroom, not sure how that will affect temps, but I doubt I'll ever need more than 8Gb any time soon anyway.
  16. Yea it was fine but like you say nucelat if I want to add more RAM I will need to put it into pull config or put the fan higher on the heat sink.
