Hello, everyone,

i am building a computer for scientific computing.
it will be ubuntu 10.04, i5 2500k, 8gb ram, 320gb hdd, (old 8600 if needed), wireless card, 550w 80+ power.

but i haven't pick up a motherboard, i am thinking following four boards, roughly same price,

asus p8z68-v lx
asus p8z68-m pro
gigabyte ga-z68ma-d2h-b3
biostar tz68

as well as
asus P8H67-M PRO/CSM-R3
msi H67MA-E35-B3

i need overclock little bit to 4.2-4.3ghz, and then just stable, the computation normally take a week to finish on my mac probook i7 2.4ghz, with 100% cpu load.

thanks

Those H67 boards wil NOT overclock. As for the z68 MB's any of them should work. I wouldn't recommend Biostar. The other MB's are OK but get less than stellar reviews.
You might look at this for a budget MB: ASRock Z68 PRO3-M LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard ~$118 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157252

I use an Asrock z68 Extreme 3 Gen3 MB and o/c it to 4.2 in daily use. No problems in 7 months.
