$600 first build help needed!!

Hi everyone,
im thinking about a making a pc for $600 ($650 including fans and speakers).

PURPOSE - Gaming,3D designing, surfing internet.

KNOWLEDGE - my knowledge about computers is good but this is my first build on my own.

PARTS NOT NEEDED - keyboard, mouse, moniter 1600x1200.

PREFERENCE - AMD because of there price to performance ratio. But i can look on some intels too.

BUDGET - maximum $600 after rebates.

TBH Taran, your build does you a lot more justice than Martins.

Your editing/designing the quad would come in handy. Granted it wouldn't be as fast as a Sandy Bridge chip but you know.

If you'd like, you could click into my siggy for the 600$ build. It'll give you a bit more umph with 2 cores, but not sure how it'd work out in 3D design.

a 2500 will devastate any AMD chip even the hexacores, its also much better than the i3-2100 dual-core

^ OP Plans to play games as well Screwy. APU on the 2500 would do nothing in gaming. Even the 6450's on the higher end Llano's "destroy" it.

im more into gaming. i got the total upto $600 with the same parts at tigerdirect. i plan to overclock it too. I have heard that x4 955 BE are beast at overclocking and give you a nice performance.

The psu in Screwysqrl build is too weak. I plan to crossfire in future, so i may look at about 700w one.

^ Actually, that's old information. The 2500K is best for overclocking, but is 90$ more than your CPU budget. 955 can reach 4.0-4.2ghz at most. But the 2500K can reach up to 5ghz+. Your looking at a 700-800 dollar budget with that though.

600w is good enough for 6850 Crossfiring.

finally, i5 2500k build at $640 with a gtx460. same case, corsair 600w psu, 4gb corsair ram, and rest the same.

Ohhhh I see Screwy, sorry about that.

That CX600 would not supply enough power for an overclocked 2500K and Crossfire 6850. That CX600 at most is a 500 watter in reality. The only actual solid PSU I've seen from the CX lineup really is the CX430 Screwy recommends sometimes.
