Hello,

I have an add-on sound card by Creative X-Fi Xtremegamer. The soud works prefectly and I just updated the driver. I connected with HDA cable not AC97.

I get static noise in the background when I plug in my Logitech desktop microphone in the sound card? (The higher my volume is raised, the louder the static)

However, if I plug it in front of my Antec 300 port, no sound issue?

specs:
Windows 7 64-bit
intel i5 2500k stock speed
6gb ram ddr3 1600mhz
160gb intel ssd
biostar tp67b+
gtx 560 ti o.c zotac
klipsch promedia 2.1
cooler master rs-600 psu

i had the same problem. I used to have a Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio, and lately others (especialy on Ventrilo) complained about huge static noise. I can even hear my static sound when my HDDs are working...its so anoying. I had to remove the card and stick with the sound card on my motherboard witch works OK (i have a AsRock Z68 PRO3 MOBO)... i tried everything... changing PCI slots, uninstalling drivers...nothing worked :(
