Can my motherboard support and run a USB3.0 card?

I have a M5A78L-M LX series motherboard. I was wondering if I can put a USB 3.0 in it and it RUN at 3.0 speeds. I know I can put one in and it will work but how do I know if it will run at the usb 3.0 speed and not the 2.0 speed?

Is there a way to see what speed your USB port is running at on your computer?

Thank you for your help!

You can get a PCI-E USB3.0 card, but note that a x1 card(what fits your system) will not get full speed with 2 Superspeed devices attached, but that is a limit of the x1 connection it self.

I will still be faster then USB2.0 with USB 3.0 devices.

If you do not have any USB 3.0 devices, don't expect much if any improvements.
