I am still running a 775 with a Q6600 and I am looking at upgrading when LGA 2011 is out, but I really can't find many details on it....

Are they going to have 6 and 8 core processors available off the bat?
Will there be an option for dual and quad CPU's off the bat?
It the RAM limit still at 32gb or will it go to 64 or 128gb?
Will the motherboards have 8 USB 3.0 ports built in or support for them?
Will the motherboards have 4 16x card slots?
Will the motherboards have 6-8 Sata III (6gb/s) ports on them?

Strange questions, but I work with HD Video and High megapixel images

8-core Dual Processor Xeons. Uni processor models seem like they will only be available in 6-core versions.

The last schedules - before VR-zone's suggestions that Sandy Bridge-E was to be pushed back - were Core i7, UP Xeon and DP Xeon in Q4 and MP Xeon in Q1 2012.

You can currently use 192GB per LGA 1366 CPU with the right parts (six 32GB registered DIMMs with Xeon processors). With an extra memory controller LGA 2011 CPUs should theoretically support 33% more memory.

USB 3.0 is not native to Sandy Bridge and will only become so with Ivy Bridge. USB 3.0 will certainly be on many boards however, how many ports will depend on the manufacturers.

Some will as there is plenty of bandwidth to support them.

Higher end models will.

Thanks Umbongo,

I assume that there is no desktop performance board that will allow up to 192gb of ram on the board? even 4 32gb cards would be nice, but I am sure that will be restricted to server boards?

Or is there a way to overide the limit in the bios some where?
