I have a computer I built a few years ago that my kid is trying to run the Sims 3 on and it is having issues. I have 2 ATI 4850 512mb video cards running on it (setup as crossfire), 8 gigs of ram and a Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 processor but it continues to lag and kick them out of the game.
I know the computer has the specs to run the game so I call EA and the said that my video memory allocation is too low (in DXDIAG under video tab "approx. total memory" is 744mb and that said it "should be at least a gig more").
I have been searching for a couple of hours and can't figure out how to increase the video memory allocation.
Thanks in advance for any help someone can provide....

I would try running with one vidio card as that will be more than enough and see if that helps.
No luck, also updated the drivers and turned down settings in the game. Probably just upgrade the video cards...thx for the suggestion though...
