ok, my GA-8PE667 Ultra 1.0 mobo apparently died, RIP. But I recently had bought an xFx Radeon 8x AGP 1 gb card and prior I bought 2 1gb 400 ddr ram. I would like to just buy an "older"/ newer mobo that can still accept this hardware, yeah I know I have to reinstall my xp windows (32bit); on the real cheap of course. Like maybe $150 for the mobo AND the chip - but I have no idea how to understand the mobo lingo. I have seen mobos for like $35 + $100++ for a VIA PT 880 chip, but what am I getting??
All I want to do with this home rig is play World of Tanks with a decent fps 30-40 would work. What mobo specs should I be looking for? I know this is ass backwards finding a mobo to fit my video card, but I think it can be done. help?

Hi Hanster08-

At the moment due to the age of the hard ware being used it going to be kind of hard to find a cheap set. I'm not sure if you want AMD or Intel but here are a few examples that may help you:

AMD: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Abit-KV7-Motherboard-Athlon-2500-I-0-Shield-Refurbish-/370476743966?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5642227d1ehttp://www.ebay.com/itm/Abit-KV7-Motherboard-Athlon-2500-I-0-Shield-Refurbish-/370476743966?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5642227d1e

Intel: http://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-Motherboard-with-2-4GHz-P4-49P1602-30-Day-Guarantee-/360340432389?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53e5f6a605

Couple of examples. Both of these two setups should play World of Tanks.

hope i dont rply 2x.
Thanks, thats what i'm looking for but I'm not tech savvy enough to understand mobo's diff. I know Intel and AMD r 2 diff chipsets, and maybe advantage to 1 or other, but seem pretty even from what I read - my concern is compatibility with what I already have.

What about these, any bigger improvement on speed??

Again, selecting a CPU to pair with it is a bit beyond me. How can I judge speed etc, what are the offsets?
