Parts Preferences: always used intel over amd however i dont mind switching.


Overclocking: maybe


SLI or Crossfire: i have sli now and i have it turned off however its with old cards so that might be a reason why, if its worth it then maybe but not right off the bat


Monitor Resolution: currently 1680x1050


Additional Comments: just looking to not go over 800$ while building a solid machine that i wont have to upgrade for a bit.

i was also looking at the http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0355999 but i read on here that the i5 is much better and the i5 is cheaper but im willing to go to the amd if its better.

i forgot to mention i have the OS so i dont have to buy that with that said what about the parts you gave but instead using one of the mobo/cpu combos i posted?

The P67 mobo's are for over clocking. The H67and H61 mobo's are not for over clocking. The socket 1155 Sandy Bridge cpu's that end with the letter "K" are for over clocking, the ones that do not have the letter "K" after them are not for over clocking.

 

Ya if it fits in your budget. That board I linked in that build I posted was $15 off with the h/d combo.
 

With that board I'm going to guess 4.2 - 4.4ghz.

Over clocking with these boards is easy as pie. Just google that boards reviews and usually they have a step by step on it.
