So, for the past week I've been having this problem with my new 6950.

I took a break from my pc all together for two days, and now when I turned it on today the problem wasn't there anymore. (I was getting ready to get a replacement.)
So should I still go for a replacement? Or stick with this card and wait to see if the same problem comes back?
I compared some benchmarks from this review http://www.techspot.com/review/349-amd-radeon-6950/page1.html
My card seemed to be quite a bit slower in the games I compared (Bad Company 2 and Stalker Call of Pripyat.) I'm almost totally sure that bottlenecking isn't a problem.
An example would be, in the review for my resolution (1920x1080) the min FPS for BC2 at full graphics was 52 fps. However, I've noticed that the fps hits 30 frequently during explosions, smoke etc....
Perhaps this has to do with temperature? I haven't messed with the fan/clock speeds yet at all.
