I recently bought a PNY gtx465 1gig for my HP p6310f i upgraded to a Rosewill RG630-s12 psu. Im getting a lot of system lockups some within minutes of starting the system, i'm not sure if i have a faulty card or if too much heat is being generated and building up inside. I was wondering what suggestions you might have ... is the card too much for the psu, is it likely the case has heat issues and what can i do about it... etc.

Thanks in advance.

Can you boot up long enough to get the temps?
February 16, 2011 3:56:27 AM

yes i can and i actually adjusted the gpu fan as it did not seem to ramp up with the temp but the gpu temp did fluctuate wildly even with my case open. It will often run for a while but eventually i get a system lock usually when i'm not paying attention and i can't seem to find a event log for it, although i just might be looking in the wrong place. I have removed the card for the time to figure out what to try next.

ok i found this in the event viewer this morning when i tried with lower part of front panel off to help venting. Starting to think maybe the PSU isn't giving enough power for some reason?

Just to update,

I changed to two straight 6 pin connectors (instead of using the included adapter) and using afterburner chose the reset option at the bottom which seemed to correct a fan issue. so now its running well. Hopefully it stays that way!
