I am going to buy one high end pc for 3D Mechanical CAD Modeling, 3D Architectural Modeling, Architectural Rendering and Walkthrough, Video Editing, Gaming. I am a resident of Kolkata, India.

I want to purchase my system in two phases

Phase -1 (Now : within 7-10 days)(850$)
Processor : i7 2600K
Motherboard : Asus P8Z68 V Pro
PSU : Corsair TX 650 or Corsair GS 600 or Cooler Master
CPU Cooler : Cooler Master hyper 212+
RAM : Corsair or GSkil 2GB or 4GB @1333 (for temporary basis)
Chassis : Cooler Master HAF 912
Chassis Fan : Cooler Master 120 mm FAN

Phase -2 (within 6-9 months )
RAM : Corsair or GSkil Dual Channel 8GBx4 @1600/1833 (maximum supported by board)
Video Card : Zotac / MSI Nvdia GTS 450 or Zotac / MSI Nvdia GTX 550 Ti
TV / Monitor : 2 X 22" or 24" 3D LED Monitor (Samsung / HP / Dell) or 1 X 32" / 40" 3D LED (Sony / Samsung / Toshiba)
(Presently I have 2 X 17" CRT, 1 Samsung, 1 LG)

Please suggest me the appropriate psu..I hope I do not require dual graphics card for my application.....I need a psu which is value for money.

why workstation use PC game .... ? your system need VGA professional !
you will feel slow slow at rendering , lightning effect , motion, arc model. pc work station very expensive but Nvidia and AMD launch cheapest NVIDIA Quadro FX 400 $169 (faster than GTX 580 in render, maya ) and AMD unveil FirePro 2270 $149
( at above just my suggestion and VGA can't use for Game)

change :
- for PSU use Corsair PSU : Corsair 650 TX V2 Ok
- for GPU use MSI Nvidia GTX 550 Ti

What would you prefer between following two if my budget is below 200$.
1) GTX 550 Ti - 1GB (http://www.nvidia.co.in/object/product-geforce-gtx-550ti-in.html) (190$)
2) Quadro FX 580 - 256 MB (http://www.nvidia.co.in/object/product_quadro_fx_580_in.html) (210$)

I will search for FX 400 and firepro 2270 at local market......and again come back to you.....

My experiences in in workstation and professional video cards are limited by usually FX cards are better than geforce cards due to the fact they're both specialized cards. One is made for computational and very specific requirements while the other is used for high quality graphics.

For your original question.
Any quality seasonic, xfx, antec, corsair power supply will be good for you. If i were you, i'd take the corsair tx unit then gs as they are a quality company that has power supplies that do what they say... unlike other companies like coolermaster.
