Hello,

Let me preface by saying that I'm a hardware noob. Now that that's out of the way, I have run into a situation where I need to replace the motherboard on my HP Pavilian Elite e9120f Desktop due to a software glitch during a Flash BIOS update. The spec of the motherboard that came with the PC is a HP OEM variety M2N78-LA (Viola) MicroATX AM2+ that has 4 240-pin DDR2 DIMM slots. My processor is a AMD Phenom II x 4 910 processor. The diminsions of the motherboard is 24.4 x 24.4.

Giving these parameters, I am looking to find a replacement for the HP OEM motherboard for the PC within the next couple of days. Can anyone help recommend a motherboard that would work and possibly be better? Ideally, I would like not like to repeat the BIOS issue, so cards with a dual BIOS chip or something would be great!

Thank you very much,

Jason

Check ebay, anandtech's for sale forum, or computer geeks. You may have to buy a gutted used hp system to get the board, but it still should be cheaper than a new hp board.
