Whats better Radeon 9800 XT 256M or ATI Radeon 1600XT

According to the Tom's Hardware Graphics Card Hierarchy Chart, the X1600XT is only one step above the 9800XT. If the X1600XT only has 128M of graphic card RAM, I'd probably go with the 9800XT. If the X1600XT also has 256M of graphic card RAM, I'd go with the X1600XT.

I would go with the 1600XT purely based on the fact that it can support shader model 3, where as the 9800XT can only support sm2.
