Resetting mother

Hello,

if i were to reset the BIOS on my DH55HC intel motherboard, would i have to reload my operating system and other peripheral software?

my home build has been getting slower and slower as time has passed, and now i get the 4-beep code (timer) whenever i use the LG blu ray burner/player. would a BIOS reset resolve the problem?

all other hardware showed working properly before problems arose.

TH is a great resource, and i always appreciate your advice and expertise.

NO, your OS would be fine, as they are not on the same disc.

thank you, Nikorr. turns out my gpu was overheating since i had removed a fan because it was noisy. i'll upgrade to a quieter fan when i can.
