More about level gaming build revised
  1. the AMD combo you selected has been discontinued :( I like your choice of GPU, its a good buy. the PSU is also solid and with hold the a pair of 6850's in CF.

Here is a Sandy Bridge build that uses most of the parts that you picked out. it will out perform the AMD build for gaming. I used a MB that has CrossFire, because oyu selected yes to that question. if you drop the CF requirement you could save a little more money with less expensive MB and a ~500w PSU.

  2. Wow guys thanks for the awesome suggestions jerreddredd and k1114, I will definitely revise my build to include that Intel i5 2400; it blows the AMD away from the benchmark comparisons that I saw.

    Here is my revised build:

    Intel Core i5-2400 Sandy Bridge 3.1GHz (3.4GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor - $189.99
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115074

    SAPPHIRE 100315L Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity - $169.99 (154.99 AR)
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102908

    G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 - $49.99

    LITE-ON Black CD/DVD Burner - $19.99

    COOLER MASTER Elite 430 - $49.99 ($39.99 AR)
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119227

    Total Before Rebate= $674.92
    Total After Rebate= $649

The revised build adds a major difference in performance for only an additional $25. Thanks again guys!
  3. Oops, I forgot to switch to that Radeon HD 5850:

SAPPHIRE 100282XTREME Radeon HD 5850 Xtreme 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity- $139.99
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102932

So my final build price is $644.92, and $634.92 after rebates.
  4. The cd/dvd drive I offered is less because a shipping. I did forget to mention it wasn't cf/sli, I don't think you can fit that in this budget, even if you drop to an x4 640.
