Bad board?

Hello,
my 6 year old pc is dieing i think. i haven't been able to get the cd rom drives to work correctly. they'll open and close but wont' read any disks. they are connected via ide cable. i have tried a sata drive and it worked fine. could it be my board or something else?

Could be the IDE cable(s).

do a little air cleaning in the drive could be dust or something on the light if this do not work you will be good for a new sata one
