SATA device not detected

Hello,
in middle of playing games over the internet Facebook and Clapalong sites my computer froze up so I restarted the machine and now its asking for a boot device, and when i enter the BIOS setup there is no hard drive detected. it will detect IDE Channel Master and Slave devices and when i put in win cd and reboot but nothing
