Recently I purchased components to build my own computer for the first time. I assembled it, everything works good except when I play games. When I play RiFT, World of Warcraft and Team Fortress 2 (only games I've tried), the CPU usage will spike super high to around 98%. This happens when my FPS drops really low but I don't know if my FPS is dropping because of the CPU usage or if my CPU is usage is shooting up because of my FPS drop. This happens no matter what settings I play on. I posted this in here because I'm assuming its a CPU problem but then again I don't know much about computers.

This morning when I turned on my computer, I got this popup so I turned off the computer and turned it back on and then it booted up normally.

My Build:

Intel i5-2500k
8GB DDR3 G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series
MSI P67A-GD55 (B3) Mobo
EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1GB
Antec BP550 PSU
Western Digital Caviar Black 1.5 TB
Windows 7 Home Premium

Thanks in advance for the help and hopefully I can get this problem fixed because playing games is unbearable.

I would go look in the BIOs to check what speed the i5 is running at. Do you know if all your cores are running at 98% or just one? Also check out how much RAM your motherboard detects too.
