I read your link.
Games are really GPU dependent
A reasonable dual core chip is fine paired with a decent GPU
I originally had a Pentium D 945 with a HD4650 1gb
and it ran BioShock2 at high settings and Crysis Warhead at 1280x1024 mainstream settings.
There are alot of cool members here but
Beware of the "Computer Elitist Snobs" that are on these type of forums.
Some users think if they buy the most expensive parts they see reviewed that
makes them computer experts.
I call it the "Black Porsche Mentality" usually coincides with a small "Ego" LOL
