My cd/dvd drive stopped recognizing that there was a disk in it, whether it was to burn a cd or just read one. I replaced the internal drive and it still can't even read the driver disk that came with the device. ????
Usually motherboards should have at least two, one for CD/DVD burner and the other for your hard drive. Did you make sure to connect both the power cable and SATA cable to the back of your replacement drive?
More or less they should look similar to the picture.
Yes I connected the 4 pinned power cable and a ribbon cable (SATA cable?) to the back of the replacement drive. I also tried the jumper on each of the 3 possible locations to no avail
