Is there anyway i can test my motherboard to see if its good enough for the rest of my computer? I suspect thats why i have been lagging on so many games that i should be able to run smoothy.

Not sure what you mean....share your specs and I'm sure someone can help you determine if your mobo is the cause of lag.

Please give a specification of your system in details and your problem too with the motherboard.

If you don't find any problem while using it in spite of being old does not matter a lot.I am hoping that you will be able to play most of the games without any difficultly on this machine.

Though your motherboard is old therefore will not suit any modern processor like i3,i5,i7 because their sockets has changed so if you plan to upgrade you will need to get a new motherboard and processor but your graphics card can work without any problem.

Yeah because i run games like gotham city imposters i minimal and get 40 fps when playing. Im hoping to get a mobo that fits the processor i have right now, and newer ones. But i dont have high hopes, dont really want to spend alot of money on a processor

If you don't want to change your processor then please don't change your mobo because changing mobo will merely make difference in your overall performance of system.

You are able to get 40FPS which is not at all bad for gaming because anything above 30FPS is in the category of smooth gaming and pretty decent one for your system.

The performance is dependent on processor.Better the processor better will be the performance.

My advice is to stick to this system and when time comes upgrade your system.

The minimum playing FPS is required/standard is 30FPS.

When you are aiming then your FPS may drop to below 30FPS and cause a hindrance for you.

Your average FPS is 40 which is fine but when a rich or intensive environment enters then your FPS will decrease and cause hindrance listed above. :(
