Its a good powerful computer .

Whether its a good rig depends a bit on your monitor resolution

Unless you need the features of Win 7 Pro you will be better off with home premium

I currently have a 1680x1050 22" and a 1400x900 (19"?).

Home should be fine and is cheaper so that's a good idea.

it is hard to predict of it will still be good for the next 5 years, but for the next 2, 3 years it will be fine and play any game but depending on the speed of games system requirenents improvment you will probably have to upgrade gpu in the next 5 years IMO
