Hi, I am just finishing up a build that I have been compiling from the system builder article, various other threads, etc and just needed a bit more of an input on my last few pieces.

My build so far is:

Already have
Corsair CMPSU-750TX 750-Watt TX Series 80 Plus Certified Power Supply compatible with Intel Core i7 and Core i5

g7 gaming mouse

Buying:

ASUS VH238H 23-Inch LED Monitor (http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VH238H-2..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0GHHXAE4V2ZDFKTAHJW3)

Samsung 1 TB Spinpoint 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.5 inch Bulk/OEM Desktop Hard Drive HD103SJ (http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Spinp..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0GHHXAE4V2ZDFKTAHJW3)

Lite-On LightScribe 24X SATA DVD+/-RW Dual Layer Drive IHAS424-98 - Retail (Black) (http://www.amazon.com/Lite-LightScr..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0GHHXAE4V2ZDFKTAHJW3)

Intel Core i5 Processor i5-2500K 3.3GHz 6MB LGA1155 CPU BOX80623I52500K (http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Process..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0GHHXAE4V2ZDFKTAHJW3)

Cooler Master HAF ATX Mid Tower Case, RC-922M-KKN1-GP (Black) (http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0GHHXAE4V2ZDFKTAHJW3)

So far I have ordered these for a grand total of $590.80

Still going to order:

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler, RR-B10-212P-G1
$28.43

And I'm still trying to decide on mobo, ram, and most of all gpu
-for mobo I'm trying to decide between these two, the only thing is I'm trying to justify if the asrock is worth the ~$54 after taxes. I don't really plan on overclocking anytime soon, and although it remains a slight possibility I don't know if it is worth it when that money could go to my gpu instead. No current plans for sli/crossfire.

-as far as RAM, I was planning on picking up some of the g.skill 2x4 (8gb) deals but unfortunately missed out. Kinda the same idea as above of if spending extra now to get 2x4 rather than 2x2 would be worth it.

-gpu is where I am having the biggest problems deciding between the nvidia and radeon options. I want this to be a strong piece of my system capable of gaming on high settings 1900x1280 and of course 1080 output. Also not really planning on overclocking this card. Any helpful suggestion to push me in a good direction?

Also finally I need to pick up a keyboard, looking for something rather basic and just wanted to check if anyone had some cheaper options that they enjoyed.

Thank you for any and all help!

Thanks for the response, I have as well come to the conclusion that I want to get a 6950 and reflash to a "near" 6970.

As far as the mobo, you would say it is definitely worth it despite the fact that I have no crossfire plans, and it isn't tooo likely that I willl OC? Also I can't tell a difference between the one you linked me and the one from newegg, is there any difference?
