AsRock Extreme 3 Gen 3 defective?

cpu is i5 2500k, overclock to 4.2ghz, vcore 1.285v not stable until 1.300v, pll level 1, c1,c3,c6 disable, all others are auto.

has problem with usb3.0 in linux system, once plug in flash drive, system dead.
but the kernel actually support usb 3.0 (my other ga-z68x-ud3h-b3 works well for usb 3.0 in linux).

is vcore 1.3 little bit too high? do u guys think i should go to request exchange? little bit lazy about 40 miles drive.

thanks

  1. Most flash drives don't use usb 3.0, but be sure your usb cable is usb 3.0. That could be your problem.
  2. vcore 1.3 is fine

perhaps the drivers for the usb 3.0 controller arent really ready for linux

I read this somewhere the other day. Linux is still not super stable with USb3.0 yet
