I neeto connect my new laptop which has windows 8 to my existing wireless connection with my desk top computer

most are 192.168.1.1 then log in with a user name and password. if you cant or forgot..use the hard reset button..it put the router back to where it was when you first turned it on. if this router is from an isp..look on the bottom to see if they put your password on the bottom of the unit.
