Hello. I'm new to making computers, this is going to be my first build, and although i know bits about parts, i don't know enough to understand their full capabilities, so i thought i'd ask you lot if there's anything wrong with my build, or stuff that can be changed.

Here's what i'm looking at getting:

Case: CM HAF-X

CPU: Intel I5 2500k

Fan: CM 212+

Mobo: ASUS P8P67 Pro

Memory: Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB

GPU: ASUS GTX 580

PSU: AX 850

HDD: 1TB WD Caviar Black

SSD: OCZ Vertex 2E

Mouse: Razer Deathadder

Keyboard: Razer Black Widow Ultimate

The price doesn't bother me, but i'd like to keep it on the good side of £1,500, which it almost is. I'll be playing games on a 22" monitor in 1920 x 1080. Most likely games will be Crysis, BF3, Fallout, GTA IV, etc etc. I'm not doing a dual GPU setup as of yet, i'm just going to go with a single GPU.

Also, with the AX 850, for this build, can i go any lower? To an AX 750/650, or will it be wiser to get the AX 850?

You can't go lower if you ever plan on adding another 580 for SLI, which I am guessing you are or why the HAF X and Asus Pro ?

In fact with dual 580's I would be looking at something 900+ watts to be on the safe side, especially if you plan on over clocking which again I'm guessing you are hence the reason you have a 2500K and after market cpu h/s in that build.

Nah, i'm only going for the single GPU, the HAF X is just there because i want it. And, yeah, i was thinking that, but i wasn't sure what good single GPU motherboards there are. I was also informed that it wouldn't be possible to get two of the ASUS GTX 580's in a case due to the fact that they take up 3 slots. Yes, the I5 2500k is there, incase i do decide on an overclock at some time in the future. This build is mainly just to get my gaming needs by for the next few years till they start getting more demanding.

You can easily get two of those cards on an Asus Pro. But for a single card set up, you want this down below...either one of these psu's and that board.

Here's a case worth looking at seeing how that HAF X is the size of a small house. This case down below is large enough, yet not as large as a house.

Just looking at the possibilities of overclocking, and i was wondering, if i was to decide not to, i would go for the 2500, and wouldn't need the 212+, right?

Yes, you could get by with a H61 board and a 2500 cpu.
