I'd like to buy a nice external display (~22 inches) for my laptop (inspiron 1520). My laptop only has a VGA port however. I have an awful internal intel mobile 965 express chipset family graphics card :na: .

I tried connecting my laptop to my friend's 22 inch Samsung T220 monitor through VGA, and although it looked nice, it was slightly blurry. I have read this is a problem and can sometimes be fixed with an "auto-adjust" feature? I couldn't find the feature on his monitor.

When I connect my laptop to my 42" LG 1080p TV through VGA, it is crystal clear and looks sharp.

Are there any specific monitors I should go for or ones that have an 'auto-adjust' feature? Or should I just go for an LG monitor?

Thanks!

it could have been the difference in resolution vs your friends native res or some def specific to his monitor. honestly im sure any vga monitor you get would be fine i would not restrict to just lg.

auto adjust i thought was more of a standard thing for monitors, sometimes a manufacturer will call it something else, i am almost certain you will be ok.
