Computer switches off automatically and gives 4 beeps (DG41TY m/b)

Hi,

I recently purchased an intel m/b DG41ty. I was sorking on it when the computer suddenly switched off on its own and gave 4 beeps. I tried to witch it on and was able to do so after 2-3 attempts.

What could be the reason?

According to Intel's manual on this board, that means your CPU is over heating.

Make sure all fans are working properly, and make sure the system has good ventilation outside the case (e.g., make sure it's not smothered).
