Boot Hangup

Hi All,

I have a problem where my computer will not always start-up. What happens is the cpu & fan seems to start as does the harddisk, but my video card doesnt and I dont get a beep. My reset key won't reset the computer (so I have to hold the power for 5 sec) Then I start all over again. When it does start up everything works fine until I shut down, where it wont completely turn off.

My computer is made from new components: Gigabyte GA-DX7 MObo, Athlon 1.4 512mbs, Asus Geforce 2 GTS, 2x 40gig hrddrive 300watt powersupply.

I've had this problem with both Windows 98 and Xp.

Any suggestions on what to do?
Thankyou

Sounds like your mobo is on the blink . Check its not shorting out on the case. If not - See if you can try a different Mobo.

Either that or reseat the cpu and ram (reseat anyway just pay attention to these two)

The reason it may be your mobo is cos the reset isn't working - Suggesting either the reset switch is at fault or the mobo is faulty.

You are responsible for any damage the info in your post may cause to my system.
