Hi Buddies!
I am Looking for an Upgrade Over 8800gt xxx Edition.I am Having 100$ Budget and The Three Choices are Upto Me:
Nvidia Geforce Gts 250 512mb Oc
Ati Radeon Hd 4850 DDR3,will look for ddr5 version aswell!
Hd 5750 512mb,a bit tough to find but i ll find it if its best!
So My First Question is That What Performance Gain would i Get with Radeon hd 4850 ddr5 version over the ddr3 version already available.
and Second is that which is best of all three mentioned? Is Directx11 Worth it?Kindly Suggest me Everything perfect because i am straightly looking into Crysis 2 And Dirt 3. :hello:

As you are gaming at 1024x768, I would not recommend upgrading your GPU.
At such a low resolution you are likely CPU bottlenecked already and will see no improvement with a newer GPU.

Your best option would be to save a little more and purchase a newer display.
Your current GPU should be able to handle 1680x1050 quite well and 1920x1080 with lowered details.

You do know that 2/3 of your new GPU choices are still DX10, right?

If, for what ever reason, all you want is a DX11 GPU, an AMD 5670 should have enough power to game at your resolution.

In general, you need an AMD 5xxx/6xxx or nVidia 4xx/5xx card to do DX11, all earlier generations are DX10.1 or lower.

I still maintain that your cash would be better saved for a new monitor.

Yes, the 5750 supports DX11 and is a bit faster than your current GPU.

Yes, the GT 440 does support DX11.

Quote:
GT440 outperforms the 8800GT, smashes it, check marks in anandtech and so on..
GT440 is behind the HD5750, not buy much but enough to make me want the GTS450..
IMO..

Actually, there are 2 different versions of the GT 440.
There is a GF106 based OEM only version with 144 shader and a commercial GF108 version with only 96 that is identical to an overclocked GT 430 (optionally with GDDR5).
While the OEM version should match or beat a 8800GT in performance, the commercial version is left in the dust.

For reference, the 5670 trades blows with a stock 8800GT but is generally slower.
It is however about 11% faster than a GDDR5 GT 440.
