Dell for Digital Music Creation and Video/Photo Editing

Our old Dell lasted over 10 years! I am looking for a new system that will meet my son's need for digital music creation and my and my daughters need for video/photo editing. Oh, and if it will last 10 years again, that would be great I know that we would need a graphics card for the video/photo side. I have no idea what the deal is for the digial music side. I am looking at the Dell XPS Studio 7100 or the 8300, but am open to suggestions. Thank you.
