My Asus sabertooth 990FX wont post with the Fx 8120 cpu, but it can post and load Windows 7 with using AMD sempron 145. I RMA my FX 8120 and just got the replacement today, same issue, unable to post. I tried the BIOS 810,813, 901 and even 1102. Even with the non qualify ram it works with the AMD sempron 145. Any suggestions? Do I have a faulty motherboard/bios chip? I have like 5 days till the RMA of the motherboard expires at Newegg. Any suggestions?

Do you have a different motherboard you can test the 8120 in?

If both boards worked with the sempron, and a BIOS updated did't fix it, it seems like it could be the CPU.

Sadly, I dont have another motherboard that I can test the FX 8120. The weird part is when I received the new replacement CPU today, I was able to POST!. Within the BIOS, it can detect that I have Fx 8120 at 3.1Ghz. BUT, when windows finished up loading, I was at the desktop already, IT ask me to reboot the system and I did. Unfortunately, it did not POST the second time. I tried everything, even replacing the CMOS battery, no luck. I am stuck at the moment. I am using my AMD sempron 145 at the moment, :(  .

Unfortunately I have seen a few issues with the 8120 recentely. I would suggest giving AMD Customer Service a call, or try to RMA the cpu (again)

That is really frustrating and unfortunate.
