i understand that the 2500k is better for overclocking. I am not planning to oc straight away but potentially will in the future.

Even though AMD has a six core processor I would still go Intel. AMD is too far behind in the market unless you are talking budget builds. The only real thing AMD has going for them is the graphics market. You would be better off spending a little extra for an 1155 build.

I'd go i5-2500K for the CPU and probably bump the graphics to a 6870. Kingston RAM is always overpriced unless you found a deal on it somewhere. Go with Mushkin, G.Skill, OCZ, etc. RAM is RAM, doesn't matter really who you go through. Just the price.

Case will be a bit cramped if you intend on upgrading your gfx in the future but its doable. Also you can fit any HSF you'd like in the Storm Scout so you're safe there. The PSU I take is a bundle deal. CM makes OK PSU's but there are better choices.

Your build I'd rate a 6.5 out of 10 for gaming. It would do the job but the components you've chosen, mainly the CPU, are questionable for gaming. If you are going for an all around PC I'd rate it a 7 since you do have six cores running.

I suggest this combo then.

It'll leave room for CF in the future, but also won't exactly break the bank.

As for cards, a 6850 is good enough. I mean the 6870 is a good option as well, but if your planning to overclock. Get the Asus 6850 EAH DirectCu and you can just overclock the 6850 to the 6870 and save about 30$.

As for the Scout, it's a solid case and would do you justice.
