Setup: -Intel Core i7 920
-Asus P6T
-Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme-1366
-XFX GeForce 9800 GTX+ Black Edition
-PC P&C Silencer 750W
- 3 x 2 GB Corsair DDR3 1600

Several times a day I notice my computer stop responding for a few seconds, where I can hear a high pitched whine start up before a click sound; and then everything returns to normal. From time to time I also notice my system gradually slow down to a halt from boot up, and notably the sound begins to crackle when this happens.

I have overclocked in the past, and I am as of yet unsure what component is causing the problem. I'm fairly certain it isn't the memory, as all sticks tested fine individually under Memtest-86. If you need any more info, don't hesitate to ask.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated :)

From your description of the noises I would think it was the PSU making the noise.

Ah, that may be a possibility. I originally suspected it may be the hard drive spinning up, but that seems quite likely.

Any idea what's causing the pauses in system operation and crashes, though?

Got "A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval" today.

The plot thickens!
