Hi Guys

I currently have a ATI 4890 in my i7 system. I am contemplating upgrading my gpu has prices have dropped recently. What is the community’s opinion?

New cards will give better performance, but you may as well wait until there's a game you like that doesn't play as well as you want with your card.

well another option is trying to find a cheap 4890 online somewhere as 2x4890 is quite a setup still

The reason I didn't push the crossfire/SLI setup is because an overclocked i7 system can handle two GTX 480s (or GTX 570s, HD 6970s, or 5970s). I don't know about dual GTX 580s. If he's interested in keeping the same setup for three more years, he'd be happier with dual GTX 570's down the road than dual 4890s.

i know, but getting a 4890 is pretty cheap and would be quite a powerful gpu setup, though since he hasn't responded we have no idea
