Memory compatibility

I'm uprgrading my Motherboard to crosshair V Formula from IV formula. I've bouth this RAM (CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TR3X6G1600C8D) and it worked perfectly. That RAM is listed 165$ on Corsair website, so I was asking if it would be compatible with my new motherboard, the Crosshaire V Formula. I've checked on Asus website, it's ain't in the QVL but there's a lot of memory which ain't there but works perfectly...

Is anyone tried this ?

Thank you!

Yes, it should work, however there are a couple of issues....

    1. The RAM kit you have is rated at that speed at 1.65V, the new MB defaults at 1.5V so you will probably have to overvolt the defaults to get that speed.

    2. That is a Triple Channel memory kit, the new MB is a quad channel. Will still work, just not as well as it is designed.

You may want to think about getting something similar to this at some point.
  2. Sorry to post it later... I didn't even see it but it's in the QVL... Sorry

    Thank you very much !!
