Hello,
My brother gave me his Phenom triple core processor last night to help me speed up my computer. He said it's a AM2 socket and it should work with my current motherboard.

I currently have a Athlon dual core processor and I believe my motherboard is model ASUS A8M2N-LA. It doesn't show as being compatible but the sockets are the same.

I installed it last night and everything seems to turn on the fans and the hard drive but I have no video on the screen. The mouse also isn't connecting either so I know it's more then just a graphics issue. Any ideas?

Not sure if it matters but I am also running a Gforce 560ti, 4 gigs of ddr2, and I upgraded the power supply when I bought the Gforce card. Everything was working fine but I can't get this new processor to work.

Yes it's a hp computer. The processor is the Phenom 8650 and I think I am going to get ASRock N68C-S motherboard. I just hope it fits in the hp a1430n case and everything else is reusable. That way if I go up to a X6 the motherboard will support it. Will this motherboard work with all my other Hp a1430n items?
