Where to Buy Single-Sided Memory

I'm pretty sure that all Dual-Data-Rate (DDR) RAM modules are DIMM's, which stands for Dual-Inline-Memory-Module.

This means there are micro-chips on both sides of the stick, hence it is not single-sided.

This is part of the DDR standard, so even for small form factor modules, they are not produce (or compatible) in a 'single-sided' form.

Also, just a note, different spec ram is not backwards and forwards compatible.

I.e. DDR3 RAM can not be used in a MOBO which supports DDR2 RAM, and DDR2 RAM cannot be used in a MOBO which supports DDR3 RAM.

That's the most ridiculous thing I ever heard.

Did you check the qualified memory list for the motherboard?

I mean who needs 4 dimm slots on a H61 anyways? I didn't know they even made H61's with 4 dimm slots.

Why do you need 16gb of ram?

Yes, I checked. There is no single-sided combination of 4 sticks totaling 16GB listed on the QVL. Yet the board states that it will accept 16GB.

I don't need 16GB. I just wanted 16GB. But from what I'm learning, the H61 chip set was never designed to supply more than 2 DIMM slots. So maybe I'm out of luck?
