I have an AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core 3800.
3 gigs of ram.
Nividia 9800 gt video card.
400w power supply.

I'd like to get started on using crossfire. Im not a huge techie so I dont quite understand much technical language. What do I need to change to make it capable, and what should this computer utilize for a Xfireable motherboard?

First you need a new power supply. At least 500watts for a good brand or 700 or so for a not so good brand.
Then you need a GPU that can actually crossfire. Actually 2 of them. Not sure if the one you have can do it.
Third I think you need a new CPU. I believe that one would bottleneck a crossfire build.
As for the motherboard I cannot give you suggestions since I don't know much about AMD CPU's. But you need to check if the motherboard can crossfire and if there's enough space for it.
