Hi guys,
Dell Dimension 5100 (made in 2005) motherboard has a 5-pin fan connector. Can I connect a standard PCI slot type fan to it or do I need some sort of adapter to make it work?

Thank you very much for your help.

All devices connected anywhere in a computer draws power eventually from the PSU. Fans are low power devices, and adding a fan will not create any power issues.

I added a 80 mm fan to the rear grill area, and fastened it using #6x1.5" screws, washers, and nuts. This fan helps exhaust the hot air inside the case. Use a 4-pin Molex pass thru connector to power the fan.

I want to buy a PCI slot fan that comes with a 4-pin connector to the power supply, but I don't understand how to connect it inside my sister's Dell Dimension 5100. The Dell's motherboard has a 5-pin connector made for that purpose. I don't know if her power supply has a 4-pin connector available. I am a bit lost here. Please help and thank you so much.
