Once the i5-2500k is back on sale (on NewEgg) I would go with that. Best CPU for your money, and just build around it. You'll build a 5 year system that will probably last longer (in performance) than your video card.

As for the motherboard, there are a lot of good ones for that cpu so you'll have to take a look and see which brand you like and features.

Well, if you want to save a little money, then go with an i5-750 along with an ASUS p7p55d-e motherboard. They have a bunch of different features, so choose the one that has what you'd like.

You could go with a pro, which costs more but has a few more features: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
Or you could go with a standard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I'd say compare all of the similar boards from Asus and choose between them. I like Asus personally.

If you want a system that will last you longer, however, I would go with the i5-2500k: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

You'll spend some more right now but it will last you longer. It isn't even that much more than the i5-750 either.

I wouldn't go lower than the i5-750 if you don't want to bottleneck your graphics card.

You're going to have to compare some motherboards.

The h55's have an internal graphics port, and usually have less features. Be careful because some of them only have two slots for RAM, you want to make sure you have four.

Start here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=E...

Then decide if you want to go h55 or p55. If you plan to OC or just like a few extra features, go for a lower budget p55, I think the lowest one is around $100.

If you see a few you like from the h55 and p55, post the links here and we can take a look.
