Two problems with Asus P8Z68 Pro/Gen3 Mobo

I've recently upgraded with an i5-2500 processor, Asus P8Z68 Pro/Gen3 Motherboard and 16GB of Corsair Vengence (4x4 GB). I had trouble getting the computer to start up at all, and now it only works with a since RAM stick in the A1 slot using onboard video. When I install any more than that, the startup stops with the Memok light on. When I put in my video card (GeForce GTS 250) with a single RAM stick, the startup stops at the Boot Device LED with no image coming up on the monitor. Is there anything I can do to get my system to 100%?

  1. psu?

sounds like a ram compatibility problem. id try different ram
  2. Is your Corsair ram 1.5 volt or 1.65 volt? If it is 1.65 volt, then you'll need to adjust voltage supplied to the ram in the system bios.
  3. It's 1.5V and listed on the qvl.
  4. You may have gotten a bad kit.
Forgive me if this sounds a bit insulting, but when the Mem OK light came on, did you push the button?

I would try installing two of the sticks in the A1 and B1 slots, with just onboard video for now, and boot. If the MemOK light comes on push the button and see if it boots properly. Then repeat for other two slots.
  5. I've tried the MemOK test with various combinations in various slots (A1-B1, A1-A2, ect.) and nothing more than one stick works
  6. My guess is a bad RAM kit....got any friends who use that RAM that would let you throw it on their board to test it out?

I'm having exact same problem. RAM is good and on QVL Corsair Vengeance 1600C9. Either of the 2 stick will work in any slot but 2 will not work at all.
