If you intend to crossfire then you'd want at least the 750W corsair PSU. Other than that you'll want to get an aftermarket cpu heat sink since the stock one isn't that great unless you are only doing light overclocking.

I just want to point out for that small of a resolution, the video card is ridiculously overkill.

i also showed you guys the wrong case. this is the one i want http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681...

depending on how i like using my tv as a monitor i may upgrade to a higher res, and id like to have that option open but if you were to pick one (keep in mind i want to run tesv and bf3 on high settings) what card would you reccomend?

and this is canadian dollars

newbie question here, are there certain companies that are always not compatible? how do you guys usually find out if something is not compatible with your other hardware?

also, is this the cable i will need? my tv needs a male vga http://www.amazon.com/HDMI-VGA-HD15-Male-Cable/dp/B001O...

i found a psu, it has a 120mm fan, will that be too much room? theres another for the same price with i think an 80mm fan?

Corsair Gaming Audio Series CA-HS1 USB Headset 50MM Drivers Circumaural Earcups Dolby Digital

I'd get the Asus P8P67 pro over the AsRock.....that 2 year warranty where 3 is industry standard bothers me too much.

If you are sure that you will never add a 2nd GFX card, the Corsair TX (8.5 performance rating at jonnyguru.com) is fine....if adding a 2nd card, it's too small and ya need to step up to a higher tier of quality for twin cards and overclocking. For one card, this 650 is cheaper at $80 after MIR and a much better quality PSU. For twin GFX, I'd get the 750

650W XFX Core Edition ($80) http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681...
750W XFX Core Edition ($100) http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681...

Case has no front USB 3 ports ... I'd upgrade to

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681...

HD - pick the one that works best in your apps

http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/2009-3.5-desktop-har...[2777]=on&prod[3016]=on&prod[2365]=on

GFX - 6950 scores 479 fps under Guru3D's game test suite, 751 fps in CF. 560 Ti (900MHz) scores 495 fps under Guru3D's game test suite, 862 fps in CF. Better performer below and $35 cheaper

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681...

RAM - I'd get 8GB of DDR3-1600

$80 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1682...

The reason I asked if this was a Canadian build is because I recognized those prices from direct canada. Direct Canada and Best Direct are pretty much one and the same company. Free shipping for both retailers. I used both to get the best prices. That Gigabyte mother board just came out on the market last week and I used "shopbot.ca" to get the best price on that. That one isn't free shipping, but if they hose you on the shipping then use "bestdirect.ca" to get that Asrock extreme4 @ $169 + free shipping.

thanks for all the help dude, the only problem i have with the hardware you suggested was the PSU and the monitor, the PSU you suggested had no reviews or spec and i would like to have a brandname psu because i dont wanna skimp on that if 30 dollars more will get me a more dependable psu im thinking this one

http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=11180AC8887&v... tell me what you think,

and as for the monitor its the same as the psu, kinda sketchy so i was thinking this one? http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=14040MN8031&v...

That psu is manufactured by Seasonic. Seasonic makes psu's for Corsair, XFX, PC Power & Cooling, and of course...themselves.

Here's two reviews on that psu.....

http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=...

http://www.hardwareheaven.com/reviews/1042/pg10/xfx-pro...

On the monitor you might want to go for something like an LED Back Light...and 2ms, but 5ms is fine.

On the RAM... 8 gigs if you can afford it, otherwise 4 gigs is fine.

http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3... <----- that board supports SLI....it's also on the newegg.ca link I posted earlier and the NCIX link.

As far as a sound card...check the onboard sound first. Chances are you aren't going to want a sound card after listening to the onboard sound.
