Best graphic card under $260.

I'm so confused on what graphic card to get under $260. Please recommend the best brand as well.

My main use of the card is gaming(such as BBC2, Crysis Warhead, Crysis 2, and Split/Second). Will the HD 5870 do?

  1. Trying to max the games that are listed or get the most FPS out of the $260 I have.

  3. I would agree with Jack. The GTX560 is your best bet.

I was playing Crysis 2 a couple days ago and it isn't that demanding so i'm sure you could max it out with the 560.I was getting fps in the 50's with just a single 6870 and a Phenom ii x4 @3.9ghz.
  4. your best bet is to get a 6950 and flash it to a 6970...i found a 2gb 6950 for $269.99-$249.99 after rebate...6950 flashed to 6970 will smoke that GTX 560
  5. Usally the 6950 only wins by 5fps on average.Compare the 560 to the 6950 and the 6950 creates a lot more heat and noise.I'd rather loose that 5fps than bake my computer. And i'm already dealing with a XFX6870 that has a really really loud fan so i'd opt for the quieter and cooler card. And for the money the 560 defnitly gets more points because it's cheaper yet it performs almost identical to the 6950 with a lot less heat and noise.
  6. The 6950 flashed into a 6970 is a good deal.
