Step one is buy really high quality memory and a high quality motherboard. Most memory cannot be overclocked nearly that much.

Actual overclocking happens in your BIOS screen, and is different for each motherboard. For my old P35C-DS3R, I first get my CPU to the speed I want by tweaking the FSB, then set the ratio for the memory from a small set of available ones to produce various speeds.

Hi there,

Since u have Intel i7-2600k,

do not go over 1.575V with any RAM, as it may kill the CPU.

It states in the guide there,

"You hit your maximum DRAM voltage. Intel’s absolute maximum for the memory voltage is 1.8 V, but they recommend that you don’t go over 1.65 V."

It also voids CPU warranty, if RAM spec is higher than 1.5V
