Hd 6850 issue feb 25th 2011

desktop specs:
core 2 duo e7400
dg41rq
value top(unknown brand) 500w power supply
2 gb ddr2 800mhz ram
320 gb sata 2 samsung harddrive
gigabyte hd 4650 1 gb ddr2

recently bought an sapphire hd 6850 1 gb
the games dont run smooth
the games stop for less than half a second every 10 seconds(not running smooth)
tried it in 1280x720
black ops didnt have that problem when i ran it in 800x600 with hd 4650

is it a power supply issue?
my system too slow?
driver issue?
please help

The psu replace asap. Its junk if it is a generic.

A generic PSU is likely not pushing out nearly the 500W it advertises, and probably underpowering the card, witch would explain why your 4 series card worked and your 6 series card doesn't.

i later ran crysis warhead in 1366X768 in enthusiast level with v-sync on and 6x anti aliasing
it ran smoothly with the same power supply
so is black ops still not working properly because of the psu?

this crap brand psu seems to be different from the other ones - i have tried a psu like this one labelled 500w
it only ran the card in idle mode and the computer would restart when i would start a game or a vedio
this one didn't restart at all.it runs the games until i click exit.so is it still the psu's fault?
