Please help with psu

hi im looking to buy a new psu...i wanted to get a cooler master extreme power 500W psu at first but after reading the reviews i came to find out that cooler master is not a good brand...i heard alot about antec and it's within my budget so i've decided to get that...i chose a few models from antec but i need help in deciding which one to buy..the models are listed below with my PC specs:

ANTEC MODELS:

Antec EarthWatts EA-500

Antec EarthWatts EA-650

Antec Neo Power 550XR

Antec Neo Power 650R

Antec basiq power BP550 PLUS

Antec basiq power BP500U

Antec true power TP-550

Antec true power TP-650

MY SPECS:

intel core i5 2400 processor
kingston 8GB ddr3 ram (4GB x 2)
asus motherboard p8h61mle
2 SATA hard drives
nvidia 9600gt 512MB (currently)

i plan to change my graphics card in a couple of months probably to a 470gtx...i read that it requires a psu of atleast 650W..if thats true then please recommend a 650W model from the above list and please state the reason why you chose the model..if a 500W or a 550W model will do then please recommend one from above...

i live in pakistan so i dont have many options in the brands..cosair is available in the market but thats way out of my budget so please dont recomend it...

    ANTEC MODELS:

    Antec EarthWatts EA-500
    Utility grade
    Antec EarthWatts EA-650

    Antec Neo Power 550XR
    Replacement for TP series ?
    Antec Neo Power 650R

    Antec basiq power BP550 PLUS
    Budget grade
    Antec basiq power BP500U

    Antec true power TP-550
    Mainstream
    Antec true power TP-650

My choice ; TP 550, a Seasonic built unit with plenty of power for your spec ( with the upgraded card )
  2. I agree with dell, and grab a 6 series from ATI or a 5 series from Nvidia. Don't bother with the GTX 470.

isn't the earthwatts series able to produce more watts?? i mean push to the extreme?

and what about the amps on the 12V rails?? what should be the minimum amount of amps the rails?

one more thing i'm gonna get the gtx 550ti card in a couple of months so please also consider that...

Only if it's a bigger psu
i mean push to the extreme?
    It has been done
and what about the amps on the 12V rails??
    4 x 20a , OCP set at 40a, 45a combined ( as much as a rev. 1 EA650)
what should be the minimum amount of amps the rails?
    Most manufacturers reccomend 38a
one more thing i'm gonna get the gtx 550ti card in a couple of months so please also consider that...
    Wouldn't that be a downgrade from the 470 ?

  5. okay so the thing is that i might need to tighten my budget..my new budget will not be able to get me a tp550 most probably..but if i get an earth watts 500 or 650W will that be good enough to run my PC with the nvidia gtx 550ti???

i compared the specs and i noticed that the gtx 550ti has better speeds compared to the gtx 470 and i'll be able to afford it sooner...but the gtx 550ti is also a really good card and should be able to run all the latest games...

lastly can you please find out about the earth watts 650W psu and let me know if it's good...

EA500 would be fine for your system with a 550Ti, even if you were able to SLI.

i'll go for the earth watts 650W in that case...just being farsighted here..

and do you think that the earth watts series by antec is good overall???

and i compared the gtx 470 and the gtx 550ti again and it seems that i misread alot of the stuff...the gtx 470 is a really powerful card but that means that i'll have to wait longer to get it but just suppose if i do get the gtx 470 will the ea-650W have enough amps and pci-e cables to run the card...and do you have to connect the pci-e cables to the card in order to make it work??
